How a sports tee is built
A sports tee is a four-panel polyester knit tee, usually sublimated before cutting, made for events, running and training rather than team competition. It has no engineered panels, mesh inserts or per-player names, which is what separates it from a match jersey.
The neck takes a self-fabric binding for a sports look or a rib for a conventional one. Shoulders are taped because polyester stretches there under load, and a printed neck label often replaces a sewn one that would be felt during exercise.
- Typical fabrics
- Micro-polyester jersey, bird-eye or honeycomb knit, polyester interlock
- Indicative weight
- Micro-polyester jersey roughly 110 to 150 g/m², bird-eye 130 to 180 g/m² (indicative, specified per project)
- Decoration
- Sublimation in-house, full coverage or placed; printed on white or very light fabric, since sublimation has no white ink
- Testing
- ISO 105-E04 (perspiration), ISO 105-C06 and ISO 12945-2, as specified by the buyer
