Voyager Textile is a workwear manufacturer with its own cutting, sewing and embroidery floor in Türkiye, producing private label workwear for workwear brands, distributors and the suppliers who run company clothing programmes. Every order starts at 300 pieces per colour and per style, sizes can be split inside that 300, and the first sample takes 5-7 business days. There are no stock styles: white label workwear here means garments made to your own design and delivered unbranded or under your label, with bulk production typically taking 4-5 weeks after sample approval.
Who Orders Workwear from a Factory
Workwear manufacturing can serve several types of business buyer:
- Workwear brands that sell their own collections under their own label and need a manufacturer for trousers, jackets and tops built to their patterns.
- Workwear distributors and catalogue suppliers that want an own-brand core range they can stock, decorate and reorder for years.
- Company programme suppliers that equip trades, logistics, facilities, food production and kitchen staff for their client companies, with the client's colours and logo.
Each of them needs the same things from a factory: a fixed specification, agreed colour standards for checking each production batch, labels and packing to their own format, and the approved references kept on file. How a multi-year uniform programme is structured is covered in the custom workwear and uniforms guide.
The Workwear Range, Garment by Garment
A workwear range is built from a few garment families that share colours, logo placement and labels.
| Garment | Usual role in the range | Detail |
|---|---|---|
| Work trousers, including cargo trousers | Trades, logistics, warehouse and maintenance staff | Trouser manufacturing |
| Trousers with knee-pad pockets | Trades that kneel: flooring, installation, construction | Trouser manufacturing; see the knee-pad note below |
| Bib-and-brace trousers | Workshop, painting and trades | Trouser manufacturing |
| Coveralls (overalls, boiler suits) | Maintenance, production and vehicle workshops | Custom workwear and uniforms |
| Work jackets and softshell jackets | Outdoor and cold-season layer | Jacket manufacturing, softshell jackets |
| Gilets, vests and bodywarmers | Mid layer over a polo or sweatshirt | Vest and gilet manufacturing |
| Work shirts | Technicians, drivers and service staff | Woven shirt references |
| Work polos | Service, technical and warehouse teams | Work polos |
| Work T-shirts | Summer issue, warehouse and site teams | Work T-shirts |
| Sweatshirts and hoodies | Layering piece for workshop and logistics | Work sweatshirts and hoodies |
| Work shorts | Summer trades and outdoor teams | Work shorts |
| Food-industry hygiene workwear, chef jackets and aprons | Food production, kitchens and service | See the food and kitchen section below; apron manufacturing |
| Medical scrubs and lab coats | Clinics, care homes, laboratories | Medical scrubs |
Work shirts are woven shirts in the same programme colours as the trousers; fabric and construction are confirmed per project at the quotation stage. Work trousers, bib-and-brace trousers and coveralls are usually cut from polyester-cotton workwear twill, which the twill and gabardine page gives at around 195-300 g/m², indicative and specified per project, with 2-5% elastane as a possible stretch option, subject to the required laundering conditions. Jacket shell and fill are confirmed per project at the quotation stage.
Protective equipment is outside this scope
Voyager makes occupational workwear and makes no protective claim for it. High-visibility garments to EN ISO 20471, flame-retardant and arc-flash clothing, chemical protective clothing are personal protective equipment under Regulation (EU) 2016/425, and they are outside Voyager's scope. The dividing question and the conformity routes are explained in when workwear becomes PPE, and high-visibility requirements in high-visibility clothing and EN ISO 20471.
Industrial Laundering and the Tests a Buyer Can Specify
Workwear is usually tested for the laundering it will actually face. Where garments go to an industrial laundry, a buyer can specify ISO 15797, the procedures for evaluating workwear under industrial washing and finishing. Where staff wash at home, ISO 6330 washing and drying with ISO 5077 dimensional change applies. Colourfastness to washing (ISO 105-C06) and to rubbing (ISO 105-X12), abrasion (ISO 12947) and seam slippage in woven fabrics (ISO 13936) round out a typical specification, with the laboratory and acceptance limits agreed per project. How to run the tests before bulk is in wash testing before bulk production.
Branded Workwear: Logos and Laundering Requirements
Embroidery is available in the Voyager factory. Choose the logo method for the fabric, artwork and laundering conditions, and include the wash regime with the artwork specification.

- Embroidery. Flat embroidery for chest and sleeve logos. Check thread, backing and stitch density on the specified fabric, then assess puckering and colourfastness under the agreed wash regime. embroidery placement and size.
- Transfers. Transfer printing runs in-house and suits multi-colour logos, names and small placements, specified for the programme's wash temperature.
- Sublimation. Runs in-house on polyester fabrics only, so it suits polyester work polos and T-shirts rather than cotton-rich twill.
- Screen printing. Coordinated with partner facilities, for large back prints on jackets and sweatshirts.
- Approved sample. Agree the wash-test conditions before sample approval and retain the approved decorated sample as the reference for reorders.
How each decoration behaves in the wash is set out in decoration and care instructions, and the choice between methods in screen printing vs DTF vs DTG vs embroidery.
Food-Industry Hygiene Workwear and Chef Jackets
Voyager produces food-industry hygiene workwear, such as smocks, jackets and trousers, and chef jackets, all to the buyer's specification. A buyer can write the garment requirements against DIN 10524:2020-06, the German standard for work wear in food businesses, and set details such as closures, pockets and sleeve length in its own specification. BRCGS Food Safety and IFS Food certify food sites, not garments, and HACCP does not define a garment standard. Chef jackets are usually double-breasted with knot buttons or press studs; fabric is confirmed per project at the quotation stage. Tabards and aprons for food handling are covered in apron manufacturing.
Care and Healthcare-Facility Workwear
Voyager makes tunics, trousers and coat-style garments for care homes, clinics and laboratories to the buyer's specification, from the same range described on the medical scrubs manufacturer page and in scrub and medical uniform manufacturing. Care programmes usually need role colours, so a nursing tunic, a housekeeping tunic and a therapist's top can be told apart across a site, and each colour has to match again at every reorder (reorder consistency).
Care homes and clinics often launder at high temperatures, sometimes with disinfecting cycles, so the buyer states the wash regime the garment must survive, and fabric, thread and decoration should be selected accordingly and evaluated on a sample under agreed wash-test conditions before bulk. Fabric composition and weight are confirmed per project at the quotation stage.
Planning Reorders for a Core Range
We keep the approved samples, patterns, colour standards and packing instructions on file, and each reorder is checked against them. Every reorder is a new production run and meets the minimum of 300 pieces per colour and per style again; where annual quantities are known, a fabric reserve for several deliveries is confirmed per project at the quotation stage. Core colours are matched per fabric, because polyester-cotton twill, piqué and fleece take dye differently; see Pantone colour matching and reorder consistency.
- Labels. Your brand label, size label and care label, with fibre composition to Regulation (EU) No 1007/2011 for EU sales; see EU apparel labelling and, for the United States, US labelling and import requirements.
- Barcodes and cartons. GTIN barcodes on bags and marked cartons per size, so a distributor's warehouse receives stock without re-sorting; see GTIN, SSCC and logistics labels.
- Packing. Folded and bagged per size for stock, or grouped per employee or per site for company programmes; see folding and polybagging.
- Certified materials. OEKO-TEX, GOTS or GRS fabric options can be sourced as specified, subject to availability and certificate scope. A material certificate alone does not establish certification of Voyager or the finished garment. certified apparel materials.
Workwear Calendar and Programme Documents
Seasonal workwear planning can include: jackets, softshells, fleece and bodywarmers for the cold season, and shorts, T-shirts and polos for summer. Delivery is planned backwards from the date the stock has to be in your warehouse: shipping, typically 4-5 weeks of bulk production after sample approval, your approval time, a 5-7 business-day sample, and any lab dip or fabric sourcing before that. The stages are set out in apparel production lead times.
- Specification set. Tech pack or reference garment per style, logo files with placement and size, colour references and the wash regime.
- Approval records. Approved sample, lab dips and any test reports the buyer specified, kept as the reference for every reorder.
- Size chart. The approved graded measurement chart, with a version reference and buyer approval for any revisions.
- Shipping documents. Packing list per carton and the export documents, including the A.TR (where applicable) for EU deliveries, described in shipping apparel from Turkey.

Questions this raises
What is the minimum for custom workwear?
The minimum for custom workwear is 300 pieces per colour and per style, with sizes split inside the 300; custom Pantone colours and sublimation carry the same minimum. A work trouser and a bib-and-brace trouser in the same colour are two styles. Polyester-based fabrics assessed separately.
How long does it take to make custom workwear?
Making custom workwear takes 5-7 business days for the sample, and typically 4-5 weeks for bulk production after sample approval. Development, fabric sourcing and shipping are additional.
Can you make workwear to our own design and label?
Yes, all workwear is made to your own design; there are no ready-made styles. Fabric, fit, pockets, colours, logo, labels and packing follow your specification, and garments can be delivered unbranded or under your label.
When should we order winter work jackets?
Order winter work jackets by working back from the date they must be in your warehouse: shipping, typically 4-5 weeks of bulk after sample approval, a 5-7 business-day sample, and shell and fill sourcing confirmed per project. Settle the jacket specification first.
Do you make certified protective workwear?
No, Voyager does not make certified protective workwear. High-visibility, flame-retardant and other PPE garments fall under Regulation (EU) 2016/425 and are outside our scope; we make occupational workwear without protective claims.
Do you offer white label workwear?
White label workwear at Voyager means garments made to your own design and delivered without our branding, ready for your label or decoration. There is no stock range of blank workwear; every style is produced to order from 300 pieces per colour.
Do you make trousers with knee-pad pockets?
Yes, trousers with knee-pad pockets are made to the pocket size and position you specify. Knee protection is PPE under the EN 14404 series, so Voyager makes no knee-protection claim for the trouser.
Building a workwear range?
Send the garments, colours, logo files, size chart and the wash regime the range must survive. We usually reply within one business day and quote from 300 pieces per colour and per style.
