How joggers, sweatpants and track pants are built
Joggers, also sold as sweatpants or track pants, are knit bottoms with an elasticated waist. Unlike trousers they have no fly and no fixed band: elastic sits in a self-fabric casing, a rib waistband or a wide flat elastic, usually with a drawcord through eyelets or buttonholes.
The ankle finish makes a jogger: a rib cuff, an elastic hem or a zipped ankle, where a straight sweatpant has an open hem. Rise is a stated measurement, a crotch gusset suits anything trained in, and bottoms made to match a hoodie come from the same dye lot where possible.
