A previous production reference, not a stocked product. It demonstrates construction and decoration capability; every project is manufactured to the customer's own specification after sample approval.
How a softshell jacket is built
A softshell jacket is cut from a bonded laminate: a woven polyester face, often with elastane, bonded to a microfleece backing, with a membrane between them in three-layer versions. It is wind-resistant, breathable and water-repellent but not waterproof, which separates it from a taped rain shell.
Every seam joins at least four layers, so allowances are kept narrow and topstitched flat, and seams are not taped. The jacket is never pressed hot. Embroidery perforates every layer and shows on the fleece side, so heat transfers or applied patches are often the better choice.
